Kathmandu, May 7: The earthquake beneficiaries can now avail the loan on one of the headings of livelihood in addition to the loan for reconstructing their private houses.
The Council of Ministers approved these clauses in the first amendment to the Integrated Guideline on Interest Subsidy for Subsidized Loans.
The beneficiaries can take loans on one of the headings among commercial farming and livestock, self-employment of educated youth, project for youths who have returned from foreign employment, women entrepreneurs, Dalit community development and, higher and technical and vocation education, even after taking the private housing construction loan.
Likewise, the Guideline has also clarified the collateral provision required for providing such loan to earthquake beneficiaries. Banks and financial institutions should give loan by keeping the property on the construction completed or under construction house of the beneficiaries of earthquake survivor private housing reconstruction and retrofitting.
Likewise, Permanent Account Number (PAN) will not be compulsory for the earthquake survivors to access private housing reconstruction loan, the government has decided.
