Kathmandu, August 11: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has requested beneficiaries who have signed grant agreements for private housing reconstruction, but have not activated their bank accounts for grant payment to contact the designated banks as soon as possible and activate their accounts.
NRA Deputy Spokesperson Manohar Ghimire said that such request was made as their first tranche was transferred to their bank accounts after the grant agreements but the funds of a large number of beneficiaries had been frozen as the bank accounts were not activated.
Ghimire also requested all concerned to activate their bank accounts, withdraw deposited amounts and begin reconstruction of their private houses.
He also said the NRA would deactivate accounts of those who did not activate them on time.
According to statistics received by Sunday afternoon, 602,443 beneficiaries, among 767,608 beneficiaries who have taken their first tranche, have started construction of their houses and have taken the second tranche.
