Dolakha, September 19: Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) Sushil Gyewali handed over Lalpurja, the land owner’s certificate, to the beneficiaries residing in Suspachhemawati Integrated Settlement being reconstructed in Ward no. 1 of Bhimeshwar Municipality of this district.
Gyewali kicked off the process by handing over Lalpurja to Himal Thami, a child beneficiary amidst a function held here yesterday.
There are altogether 56 houses in this integrated settlement. These families from the Thami community had taken shelter in temporary shelters after the 2015 earthquake. The NRA constructed the integrated settlement in the government land and handed over Lalpurja to the residents.
One of the beneficiaries Kumar Thami thanked the government for building an integrated settlement and expressed happiness over receiving a house along with land.
Another beneficiary Man Thami said that they can now sleep safely. “We were afraid before,” he said. “But, as we have a house, we can sleep safely.”
Chief Engineer of the NRA’s District Level Project Implementation Unit (Building) Arjun Tamang informed that the government has provided the grant along with assistance to develop infrastructures. The integrated settlement has various facilities like water pond, hall, park and a school.
CEO Gyewali expressed satisfaction to see smiling faces of the local community after receiving safe houses. He said that the NRA would facilitate further in improving infrastructures and livelihood of the local people.
More than two dozen families have already started to live in the integrated settlement. The rest is working on the last-minute finishing of their houses.
Chairperson of Dolakha District Coordination Committee Dabal Pandey said that the committee is ready to provide any assistance necessary to improve the living standard in the settlement and said that the concept of home stay could also be considered.
