NRA to adopt all safety measures to prevent coronavirus impact

Kathmandu, March 20: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has requested all those involved in the post-earthquake reconstruction and rehabilitation to adopt all measures of safety and precaution to prevent and control the effects of coronavirus that causes the disease COVID-19.

The NRA issued a press release requesting to implement the decisions made by the High-Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 coordinated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Ishwar Pokharel, in relation to infection, prevention and control of COVID-19.

The press release issued by NRA spokesperson Gopal Prasad Aryal, states that “the global health is impacted and a situation has been created requiring special precautions due to COVID-19, when the reconstruction and rehabilitation works are being carried out for the structures damaged due to the earthquake on 25 April 2015 and the subsequent aftershocks.”

“Considering this situation, all those concerned with reconstruction and rehabilitation are humbly requested to adopt all safety and precautionary measures in reconstruction and rehabilitation works, by implementing the decisions made by the High-Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 coordinated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Ishwar Pokharel, on 17 March 2020 in relation to infection, prevention and control of COVID-19.”
